Dave Hurley
General Manager

Born and raised in Newfoundland, Dave graduated from Memorial University with degrees in Physical Education and Education. Dave and his wife Audrey moved north in 1975, first to Fort Simpson, NT, then Iqaluit, finally settling in Yellowknife in 1979, when he accepted the position of Executive Director of the Sport North Federation. He has served as the Chef de Mission for Team NWT at various Arctic Winter Games, Winter and Summer Canada Games and the Western Canada Games. He was honoured as Sport Administrator of the Year by the Canadian Sport Council of Canada in 1982.

A long-time, active member of Elks Canada, in 1997 Dave began working as the General Manager of Yellowknife Elks 314, until accepting his current position with the Host Society in January 2006. He will spearhead a group of 2,500 volunteers as Yellowknife prepares to host over 2,000 participants in the 20th Arctic Winter Games.

Dave exemplifies community service as he remains active on a number of Boards. He has raised four grown daughters in Yellowknife.

Holly Angus
Fundraising Manager

Prior to joining the Arctic Winter Games team, Holly worked in public and media relations for the Festival of Classics in Oakville, the City of Brantford and Mohawk College. She is responsible for coordinating fundraising efforts, sponsorship fulfillment and sponsorship marketing strategies.

Holly completed her undergraduate degrees at the University of Guelph and post-graduate studies in public relations at Mohawk College of Applied Arts and Technology. She received the 2006 Pinnacle Award for Photography and Film from the Canadian Public Relations Society-Hamilton.

Holly moved to Yellowknife from Brantford, Ontario with her partner David and son Damian. Her other son, Cameron, is completing his studies in Ontario. Since arriving in Yellowknife, Holly has joined the Rotary Club of Yellowknife, where she presently serves as Media and Public Relations Chair.

Sharni Bruce
Sport Manager

Recently from Langley, British Columbia, Sharni manages the sport and athlete service components of the Games. This includes liaison with committees responsible for Accommodations, Security, Food Services, Transportation, Facilities & Equipment, Officials and Medical Services.

Sharni is a graduate of the University of Alberta with a dual bachelor degree in Physical Education and Education. During the summers of 2004 and 2005, she worked for Sport North Federation in Yellowknife, NT organizing Multi Sport Camps for the Northwest Territories, as well as coordinating the NWT Summer Games in Inuvik, NT.

Nadine Koe
Executive Assistant/Volunteer Coordinator

Nadine is responsible for the administrative support necessary to successfully host the 2008 Arctic Winter Games. She also assists with the management of the volunteer component of the Games, working closely with the Volunteer & Protocol Division and the General Manager to ensure the division achieves their targeted objectives.

Prior to joining the Host Society, Nadine worked for the Worker's Compensation Board of the NWT/NU for the past 4 ½ years, serving in the Corporate Secretary/General Counsel Office, President's Office and the Chief Financial Office, Corporate Services.

Born in Inuvik, NT of Tetlit Gwich'in ancestry, Nadine is the proud mother of Joey and Cassidy.

Jacqueline McKinnon
Marketing Manager

Jacqueline joins the Arctic Winter Games 2008 Host Society with a diverse background in marketing and communications.  Originally from Thunder Bay, Ontario, Jacqueline has worked in Healthcare, Tourism, and the Service Industry with a focus on marketing, communications, public relations and special events.

Upon completing her studies in English and Linguistics at Lakehead University, Jacqueline worked in Toronto and continued her education in an integrated Marketing, Communications and Public Relations program, which led her into Marketing and Special Events for Imago Restaurants for 7 years.  She returned to Thunder Bay in 2001, and coordinated sales and marketing both for provincial and private tourism agencies.  In 2003, she entered into Communications for the regional cancer program in the burgeoning healthcare industry in Thunder Bay.

In October 2006, Jacqueline moved to Yellowknife to join her partner, Keith, and joined the Host Society in November, responsible for the marketing and merchandising for the 2008 Games.
